In 2024 WPC will take place 18-22 March in Houston, Texas offering an array of sessions featuring major chemical companies and leading organizations discussing the critical issues that impact the chemical market, numerous networking opportunities and a variety of industry leading petrochemical training courses.

This year’s event will offer both In-Person attendance and On-Demand, fully loaded attendee engagement, advanced networking, and sponsorship tools. The event app will create a one-stop-shop experience for attendees.

WPC is now a part of S&P Global

On March 1, 2022, IHS Markit ENR merged with S&P Global Platts to form a new division called S&P Global Commodity Insights. The merger combined two of the most highly respected organizations in the global energy, chemicals, and commodity markets.

S&P Global Commodity Insights offers end-to-end petrochemical market expertise—from feedstocks to end-use chemical markets, as well as transportation/delivery systems. The new organization brings together the speed of Platts’ short-term market reports, benchmark pricing, anda growing list of lower-carbon price assessments, with the power of IHS Markit’s short-term, medium-and long-term market analysis and forecasts.

Together, we will continue to cover the entire petrochemical spectrum, including:

  • Feedstocks: NGLs/LPG, naphtha, coal, biomass, and emerging feedstock sources from recycled plastics
  • Petrochemicals: olefins, aromatics, syngas, and all related derivative products
  • Inorganics: chlorine, caustic, metals, and minerals
  • Chemical intermediates
  • Industrial gases
  • Plastics, polymers, elastomers, and recycled plastics
  • Specialty chemicals: including minerals and renewables
  • Chemical end-use markets: covering 38 consumer end-use industries
As S&P Global Commodity Insights, we now deliver unmatched breadth and depth across the entire energy, refining, and chemical sectors. Our chemical solutions offerings include supply and demand forecasts for more than 300 chemicals, as well as market and industry overviews covering key producers and capacities.

What does this mean for WPC?

Other events focus on covering just the basics, but in a complex world, we know basic just isn’t good enough.

Volatile energy markets, war, pandemic-weakened economies, supply chain disruptions, decarbonization, and the energy transition. Today’s challenges demand a trusted foundation of chemical market insights combined with fresh ideas—and new voices—from disruptive influencers. You need essential content in context and a 360° view of supply chains and end markets to navigate volatile markets. This is something the 38th World Petrochemical Conference by S&P Global is uniquely positioned to deliver.

At WPC 2024, we will cover what you expect—a comprehensive outlook on the economy, energy and feedstocks, commodity chemicals, intermediates, specialty chemicals, and related customer markets, but we won’t stop there. We will elevate the conversation beyond basic chemical supply and demand to discuss critical supply chains, feedstocks, financials, geopolitical factors, and emissions, because volatile markets can be managed—if you know the risks.

Only WPC 2024 will deliver end-to-end chemical market outlooks, end-use market analysis, and the story on mobility, energy transition, and climate strategies to help you seize opportunities and manage risk.

It was a great opportunity to meet all leaders in the chemicals industry specially after long time of distancing. We had very useful meetings in every corner and ally of The Hilton Americas in 4 condensed days."
