CO2 capture at Shell – De-risked and commercially deployed technology to decarbonize your asset

Tuesday, 21 March

9:10 am - 9:35 am (CST) / 21/mar/2023 02:10 pm - 21/mar/2023 02:35 pm

Deploying Carbon Capture & Sequestration (CCS) projects at our own assets as well as developing CCS hubs to enable industrial decarbonization and reach scope 1, 2 & 3 reduction targets is a key focus of Shell’s in the Energy Transition. Shell has been involved in CO2 capture for many decades - developing, deploying and operating technologies to clean up CO2 from gas streams around the world. Shell developed technology suitable to recover CO2 from acid gas streams throughout the upstream and refining portfolio (ADIP ULTRA), as well as acquired and deployed leading post-combustion CO2 capture technology (CANSOLV CO2 capture) primarily sought for mitigating climate change, managing carbon footprint and decarbonizing assets.

Along with providing a high level update of Shell CCS plans globally, this presentation will focus on the CANSOLV CO2 capture technology which is customized amine based technology for low pressure, low CO2 concentration and oxidized streams (including offgas and fluegases). The CANSOLV technology is one of the only technologies globally that is deployed and operating at large, commercial scale in this space”
