John Nielsen-Gammon

John Nielsen-Gammon is a Regents Professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at Texas A&M University, the Texas State Climatologist, and the Director of the Southern Regional Climate Center. He holds S.B., S.M., and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a Fellow of the American Meteorological Society. His recent research activities have focused on extreme weather in Texas and their relationship to climate change. He has received multiple awards for teaching, service, reviewing, and public engagement. He is President of the American Association of State Climatologists.
