John has over 39 years of experience in the chemical industry having spent seventeen years with Imperial Chemical Industries and a further 11 years at CMAI prior to the acquisition of CMAI by IHS in 2011, the merger with Markit and then with S&P Global in 2022. John has worked in a large variety of roles in the industry including plant design, manufacturing, research, business development and strategic planning. He is currently responsible for leading S&P Commodity Insights Advisory team which includes working with clients across Energy Transition, Upstream, Oil Markets, Gas, Power, Chemicals and Agri businesses. The team offers strategic business advice on responding to structural changes in the industry, building new investment cases or assisting in the valuation of potential acquisition targets. John is a graduate Chemical Engineer from Cambridge University and completed an MBA from London Business School in 1999.
