Mr. Surana is a Mechanical Engineer with Masters Degree in Financial Management. He has experience of over 37 years in domestic and international Oil and Gas Business in wide range of areas including Downstream and Upstream.

Mr. Surana has handled various leadership positions at HPCL in Strategy Formulation, Major Projects Implementation, Refinery Operations, Business Process Re-engineering, Corporation wide ERP implementation, Acquisition and Management of Upstream Assets etc.

Under his leadership HPCL attained the Maharatna Status in 2019 and bestowed with various prestigious awards by national and international agencies.

Mr. Surana was adjudged recipient of ‘SCOPE Excellence Award under Individual Leadership Category for Maharatna/Navratna PSEs’ in 2016-17. He is also the recipient of ‘Business Today Best CEO (Oil and Gas) Award’ for 2019-20.
