India’s Growing Role in Global Supply Chains – Long-Term Opportunities amid China-plus-one sourcing strategy

Friday, 24 March

9:25 am - 9:45 am (CST) / 24/mar/2023 02:25 pm - 24/mar/2023 02:45 pm
Indian export markets suffered post pandemic as global supply chains went into a disarray. Shippers struggled with record high freight rates, congestion, and equipment shortages. Having past its worst, the supply chain stress is easing while freight rates are normalizing to pre-pandemic levels. The bigger opportunity lies in the changing global supply chain shifts as China-plus-one sourcing strategy will continue to pay dividends for manufacturers in India. S&P Global data is already suggesting acceleration in sourcing shifts away from China during the COVID-19 pandemic which has boosted trade between the United States and India to record highs.
