Counsel and Director, Business Development

Kate Ballengee, Esq. serves as Counsel and Director of Business Development for Metro Group Maritime in New York, NY. She has worked at Metro Group Maritime since 2007, overseeing the litigation department on behalf of Metro Group Maritime’s ocean carrier and wider transportation industry clients including chassis-leasing companies, Class 1 railroads, NVOCCs, freight forwarders, and motor carriers amongst others. She is also a member of Metro Group Maritime’s Regulatory and Audit Division, which provides audit and consulting services to MGM’s clients in the wake of increased regulatory oversight of the shipping industry.

Kate received her undergraduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and her law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, VA. Kate also obtained an Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics through Middlesex University Business School and Lloyd’s Maritime Academy in London.
