Ms Sukla Mistry, Director (Refineries), Indian Oil Corporation Limited, is the first woman Functional Director on the IndianOil Board and is spearheading the business & operations of nine refineries & mega petrochemical plants of IndianOil with a group refining capacity of 80.55 million tonnes per annum (1.64 million barrels per day). She holds the positions of Director on the Board of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (CPCL) & Ratnagiri Refinery & Petrochemical Limited, an integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex, coming up in west coast of Maharashtra.

A Metallurgical Engineer from Bengal Engineering College, Calcutta University, she has deftly handled complex assignments in her over 35 years of rich experience in the oil & gas sector. Ms Sukla Mistry has led IndianOil’s Refineries Division to achieve several firsts, IndianOil’s first indigenous technology IndJet unit for ATF production; Wet Sulphuric Acid (WSA) Plant; 2G Ethanol Plant and soon to be commissioned world’s first 3G ethanol plant using refinery off gases to reduce carbon footprints. She is currently playing a pivotal role in execution of projects worth approx. INR 1.1 Lakh Crore (USD 14 billion) across refinery units, with thrust on refinery & petrochemicals integration. She is also spearheading the green growth agenda towards achieving Net Zero commitments of refineries with projects on the anvil such as development of natural gas infrastructure; power requirement of refineries with renewable energy; CCUS projects, setting up green hydrogen plants, and various energy improvement projects among others. Adoption of robust digitalisation agenda with integrated digital solutions like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality etc. is gaining momentum under her dynamic leadership, bringing in top of the line technologies for business process improvement in refinery operations.
In recognition of her exceptional & visionary leadership, Ms Sukla Mistry has bagged prestigious awards, most notable being the world’s premier business awards Stevie Awards for Woman of the Year-Manufacturing & Industry (2022); the ‘Refining Industry Leader of the Year’ award during Global Refining & Petrochemicals Congress 2022; Economic Times Prime Women Manufacturing & Operations Leadership Award-2021, among others.
