Chief Commercial Officer

Tim Cesarek is the Chief Commercial Officer of Gevo, Inc. In this role, he leads the global commercial, business development and project origination team, where he grows revenue, originates project sites to be developed, secures strategic partner financing, and establishes strategic partnerships with both upstream, midstream, and downstream partners.

Tim and the team have secured multiple fuel/chemical supply agreements for Gevo totaling over $2 billion in revenue over the next ten years.

Prior to Gevo, Tim was the Senior Vice President, Global Business Development, of Enerkem, a waste to chemicals and fuels company, where he was responsible for leading the commercial and project development efforts.

Tim served as Managing Director in the Organic Growth Group and Organic Recycling business for Waste Management, Inc. He was responsible for directly investing in opportunities to optimize the value of the waste it managed, through waste conversion into biofuels, renewable chemicals, energy and lawn and garden products.

Prior to Waste Management, Tim was the President of Koch Genesis Company LLC, an investment arm of Koch Industries, Inc. specializing in commercial ventures, licensing and early-stage investments in the refining, petrochemicals, forest products, polymers, resins and consumer products industries.

Tim has over 30 years of business development and private equity experience with over 15 years in the renewable fuels, chemicals, and energy industries.

He specializes in building and growing development-stage businesses, equity and debt financing, project development, strategic ventures, and technology development and commercialization.

He has a BS in Biomedical Engineering and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
