Ir. Yaaco b Salim was appointed as Head of Strategic Planning & Ventures, PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCGB) since August 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Cum Laude) from the University of Texas at El Paso, United States of America. He has a Master of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University. He is also a registered professional engineer with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia since 2001.

Ir. Yaacob joined PETRONAS in 2006, bringing 18 years of external experience from the energy and petrochemical industry with multinational companies, and over 16 years with PETRONAS where he held various key positions predominantly in the Corporate and Downstream Business. At PCG, he is responsible to drive the growth strategy and implementation of PCG journey to achieve its vision of becoming the preferred chemical company providing innovative customer solutions. He was instrumental in PCG's landmark acquisition of Perstorp, a prominent global player in sustainable specialty chemicals. This acquisition represents a significant achievement for PCG as it establishes a crucial foundation for diversifying into the specialty chemicals and capturing new growth opportunities. Ir. Yaacob is also currently serving as a Board member of eight PETRONAS joint-venture and wholly-owned companies.
