Alvin joined S&P Global in September 2022 as the Director of Inorganics covering Asia Pacific. Earlier, Alvin was engaged in APAC strategic marketing at Avery Dennison. Before that, he led APAC market intelligence at Braskem where he also performed business development in solvents and kickstarted a venture based on a closed-loop plastic management platform concept he successfully pitched to the top executives. At SABIC, Alvin was the global lead for polypropylene market intelligence providing short and long-term outlooks as well as conducted market studies for several multi-billion dollars projects. Previously, Alvin was Principal Analyst at IHS (formerly CMAI) covering aromatics, authoring market reports and annual studies.
Alvin has presented at various events on petrochemical markets and sustainability. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from the University of Birmingham.
Aaron is a Senior Analyst with the Platts Analytics’ Petrochemicals team. His current focus is on the petchem feedstocks and market analytics. Prior to joining S&P Global Commodity Insights, he worked in various research houses covering both the petrochemicals and oil product markets and other corporate roles within the industry. His work experiences spanned across both the refining and petrochemicals sectors. He is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM), holds a MSc in Applied Finance from the Singapore Management University and has a Chemical Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore.
Aaron is the Forecasting Systems & Data Analytics Director within Fuels, Chemicals & Resource Solutions at S&P Global. Based in the United Kingdom he is responsible for the implementation of technology solutions offering critical insights to drive product growth. He joined Rushmore Reviews, a legacy IHS Markit company, in 2013, with past responsibilities across the upstream and chemicals sectors. He holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of Aberdeen and a Master of Science with distinction in Data Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University.
Vipra is leading the Assets/DCP India team under the FCRS division of S&P Commodity Insights segment for the last 3 years. In her current role, she is primarily responsible for updating and maintaining the database service that provides coverage of the international chemical industry, including information about the chemical producers, their plant locations, and products. Additionally, she is also leading the quality control and quality assurance side of the data. S&P Global Commodity Insights manages a portfolio of over 21000 chemical products on DCP browser on Connect. Prior to this, she was working as a Senior Associate with Corporate Profiles GICS & Industry Classification division under the S&P Market Intelligence segment for 8 years. She graduated in Pharmacy, followed by a Master of Business Administration degree from Delhi, India.
Dr. Shaohua Feng currently serves as Director of Polymers, Asia Pacific, S&P Global Commodity Insights. He is based in Singapore, and responsible for developing market research, analytics and insights capabilities and services for polymers and plastics with the focus on supply/demand forecasting, plastics recycling, and circular economy and sustainability in petrochemical and polymer industry. He joined IHS Markit as Director of Chemical Consulting in April 2020 and has more than 20 years of experience in petrochemical and specialty chemical industry. He spent majority of his career time with Singapore’ A*STAR, Huntsman Performance Products, Shell Chemicals and Eastman Chemical in various commercial and strategy roles – R&D, business development, product management, marketing, sales and intelligence.
Ning Fu has been in the chemical industry for over 18 years. She spent majority of her career time with EVONIK, IHS, SABIC and bp in commercial and marketing roles – R&D, marketing and intelligence. Ning has a chemical engineering master’s degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
Heike Held is a Research and Analysis Associate Director at S&P Global Commodity Insights, formerly IHS Markit. She is part of the inorganic chemicals, minerals and mining team and co-authors a broad range of reports for the Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH) and Specialty Chemicals Update Program (SCUP). Prior to joining IHS Markit in January 2019, Heike worked at Genentech, Inc. as R&D chemist, and at various higher education institutions. She holds a diploma in chemistry from the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg, Germany and a doctoral degree in chemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland.
Aida Jebens authors market research studies for IHS Markit’s Specialty Chemicals Update Program (SCUP). She has more than twenty years of experience in developing and managing information and projections of manufacturing markets and technical trends. Since joining IHS in 2012, Aida has led and participated in a variety of specialty and commodity chemical projects. Her product coverage includes biocides, catalysts, corrosion inhibitors, cosmetic chemicals, electronic chemicals, lubricating oil additives, printing inks, paper chemicals, synthetic lubricants, textile chemicals, and water management chemicals. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Aida worked in various research and project management capacities at Infonetics Research, a telecommunications market research company; VLSI Research, a market research firm specializing in semiconductors and equipment industry; and SRI Consulting.
Paul has been involved in the chemical industry for 3.5 decades. His career began at Daelim Industry, a large-scale steam cracker in Korea in the early 1990s. He has been trading chemicals spanning from olefins, BTX to polymers and has worked in Beijing for 9 years in the chemical businesses. At Yeocheon NCC, he oversaw overall sales and feedstock procurements as VP and is renowned as a petrochemical veteran in Nort East Asia’s chemical industry.
Baljit joined S&P Global (legacy IHS Markit) as a Research Analyst. As a Principal Research Analyst, her focus is in the Specialty Chemicals department of polymers and elastomers; mainly specialty elastomers and high-performance thermoplastics marketing research reports for global clients. Her expertise includes primary and secondary research, as well as forecast analysis. Baljit received a B.S. in Biochemistry from University of California, Riverside.
Andy recently joined S&P Global Commodity Insights as a Director, based in the London office. He brings with him a wide experience of the Chemical industry from a fourteen-year career at Shell, with particular focus and expertise in Olefin Derivatives. He started his career in Shell’s Mobility business, before joining Shell Chemicals in 2012 where he subsequently held a variety of Sales, Business Development and General Management positions in their Linear Alpha Olefin, Base Chemical and Propylene Oxide product lines. His experience across - and along - value chains has given him a unique insight into integrated value, and knowledge across a broad range of derivatives and end uses such as Automotive, Building & Construction, Furnishings, Lubricants, Detergents and Solvents. He has also led projects in Digitalisation and Sustainability and has a keen interest in how these topics will shape the Chemical industry in both the near and long-term. Andy has a Masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, and takes pride in being able to combine his technical knowledge and commercial experience, to translate complex technical topics into market-relevant, real-world conclusions.
Arabinda is presently heading the specialty chemicals research team in Gurgaon. Since joining IHS Markit (Now part of S&P Global) in 2018, he initially worked on Chemical Economics Handbooks (CEH), a leading global chemical business analysis report. He also helped sector experts with India region-specific research, policy analysis, and market size estimation exercises. Before joining S&P Global, he worked with Novozymes, where he held a dual role working with the investor relations and business finance teams. He worked on internal market share and size estimation exercises, delivered thematic research notes for quarterly/annual investor briefs, and provided customized market research and financial analysis to the executive management team. Arabinda has broad industry expertise in chemicals and industrial enzymes. Arabinda takes a keen interest in the field of ESG and sustainability. He holds an MBA, and is a certified investor relation professional from the Bombay stock exchange (BSE).
Grace joined S&P Global Commodity Insights in Dec 2022, based in Shanghai, China. She has 17 years of experience in petrochemical consulting industry, working in Tecnon OrbiChem initially covering the polyamide 6 and polyamide 66 industry chains in Asia, there after leading the market research in China for their bespoke study business during 2012-2019. In recent years, she has been in charge of multi-client market reports on the Asian aromatics markets, phthalic anhydride industry chain, and styrene & UPR industries. Grace has a B.A. in Chemistry and a M.A. in Economics.
Neetu Singh is an Inorganics SME at S&P Global Commodity Insights division in Gurgaon, India where she is responsible for Chlor-Alkali and Vinyls. She comes with chemical manufacturing experience starting her career with Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Limited where she worked in chemicals insights, energy prices, forex rates and customer experience in the dynamic macroeconomic environment and policies. Neetu has a hand on experience in Specialty chemical reports, data visualization and management as well as analyzing economic scenarios.
Dr. Liliana Viciu joined IHS Markit now S&P Global in 2016 bringing with her more than 10 years of advanced chemical knowledge. She works as Associate Director within the Specialty Chemicals division leading the Solvents and Surfactants (S&S) team, which analyses surfactants, household detergents and their raw materials, 1,4-butanediol chain of products, fluoropolymers, fluoroelastomers, fluorocarbons, chlorinated solvents, as well as linear alpha olefins markets. Before moving to the S&S team in August 2022, Liliana was involved with market research analysis in the field of nutrition and renewable products (bio-based chemicals, biofuels as well as feed and food ingredients). Prior to joining IHS Markit, she worked for nine years as a senior researcher and lecturer at ETH Zürich, Switzerland, in the field of the structure-properties relationship of materials science. She started her career as a researcher at Princeton University and then at Cornell University, United States. Liliana holds a bachelor and master’s degree in chemistry from University of Bucharest, Romania, and received her PhD degree from University of New Orleans, United States.
Xiaoshu is part of the Petrochemical Analytics team of S&P Global Commodity Insights, with primary focus on APAC olefin chains and global petrochemical capacities. Her prior experiences ranging from energy commodities to chemicals, with specialties in methanol & derivatives markets and China coal & power industry. She holds a Chemical Engineering degree from National University of Singapore.
Fang Fang has over 20 years of experience in market research and consulting. She holds a master's degree in economics and has a proven track record of leading strategic consulting engagement, building and expanding business lines, and managing consulting teams. She specializes in the olefins and elastomers industry and has practical research and consulting experience in the automotive industry.
Rita Wu is Director of Specialty Chemicals industry research programs with a focus on renewable feedstock, low carbon fuel, oleochemical as well as food and nutrition sectors. She leads global research and provides expertise and connections to the Americas market. She has industry research and financial market experiences across integrated oil, gas distribution and chemical industries. Before joining IHS based in California 8 years ago, Rita spent 5 years in the Asia financial capital market as Asia ex-Japan Energy Equity Research lead analyst with Barclays Capital Investment Bank, as well as China Oil and Gas analyst with Yuanta Securities Hong Kong. She was responsible for analyzing major refineries and specialty chemical companies in Asia and providing investment recommendations to the institutional investors. Rita has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a M.S. in Enterprise Management from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Will has more than a decade of petrochemical experience. He started his market intelligent career at IHS Markit and worked across aromatic, MEG, methanol and polyolefin products. After spending years as principal analyst to PO industry he then joined in Yingde Gases, the biggest industrial gases supplier in Asia, as marketing research manager in strategy department. Before coming back to IHS Markit a part of S&P Global, he worked at Wison Engineering as lead of market research department.
Jane is a senior research analyst of the S&P Global Commodity Insights Chemicals team. She joined the organization in November 2017 (at the time IHS Markit), since then she has been responsible for the research and maintenance of world chemical producers and their production capacities, covering base chemicals, specialty chemicals and compounded products. Jane began her early career as an editor and consultant at Chemlinked.com to offer regulatory information services for market entrance of new or hazardous chemical products in the Asia-Pacific region. Jane holds a double degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceuticals and Bachelor of Art in English Literature from Zhejiang University of Technology.
