  • Alvin Ang, Director, Inorganics APAC

    Alvin joined S&P Global in September 2022 as the Director of Inorganics covering Asia Pacific. Earlier, Alvin was engaged in APAC strategic marketing at Avery Dennison. Before that, he led APAC market intelligence at Braskem where he also performed business development in solvents and kickstarted a venture based on a closed-loop plastic management platform concept he successfully pitched to the top executives. At SABIC, Alvin was the global lead for polypropylene market intelligence providing short and long-term outlooks as well as conducted market studies for several multi-billion dollars projects. Previously, Alvin was Principal Analyst at IHS (formerly CMAI) covering aromatics, authoring market reports and annual studies. 

    Alvin has presented at various events on petrochemical markets and sustainability. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from the University of Birmingham.

  • Mark Astley, Editor, Ammonia, Fertecon

    Mark has several years of experience as a price reporter and is currently responsible for S&P Global’s weekly current information report on the ammonia market. He joined Fertecon (acquired by IHS Markit in 2019 and now part of S&P Global) in October 2016, initially covering the nitrates fertilizer market for four years and before assuming editorship of the weekly ammonia report. After graduating with a degree in journalism and prior to joining Fertecon, Mark worked as editor of a dairy industry website and as a deputy section editor at a leading British agriculture magazine.

  • Krispen Atkinson, Associate Director

    Mr. Atkinson is a senior consultant within the Oil Markets, Midstream, Downstream and Chemicals (OMDC) consulting team, specialising in shipping analytics, vessel technologies, marine fuel and maritime consulting. Prior to joining the OMDC team, Mr. Atkinson spent 13 years in the IHS Markit Maritime & Trade department, leading several teams in the data and analytics, before moving to maritime consulting, where he led projects on port development, future ship size forecasts and vessel equipment insight. He brings considerable experience in vessel movement data analysis, tanker vetting, fleet forecasting, port development due diligence and marine fuel forecasting, He has worked with IHS Maritime & Trade, formerly Lloyd’s Register – Fairplay since 2005, bringing extensive knowledge of the shipping industry through personal interest pursuits.

  • Kitiya Atthayuwat, Consulting Principal

    Kitiya currently serves as Consulting Principal at S&P Global Commodity Insights (previously IHS Chemical Consulting). She has more than 10 years’ experience in petrochemical consulting business. She worked as an analyst and consultant at Nexant Asia Limited during 2011-2018. She then joined IHS Markit in September 2018. She has been involved in numerous engagements in chemical technology and specialty chemicals as well as mainstream petrochemical commodities. Her expertise covers various chemical value chains such as olefin, polyolefin, C4 and synthetic rubbers, vinyls, styrenics, phenol and derivatives, PO/polyols, polymers (e.g., PC, PMMA, ABS and PVC), aromatics, etc. She also has led and managed team members to conduct market study, price forecast, competitiveness analysis, feasibility study as well as economic and financial evaluation for several major petrochemical companies in Asia.

  • Sam Aworinde, Associate Director, Chemical Consulting

    Dr. Aworinde works in the Chemical Consulting practice at S&P Global Commodity Insights in London and has more than 10 years of consulting, engineering, process R&D, project and operational experience across the chemical and energy industries. His consulting experience covers technical and economic evaluation of chemical process technologies, feasibility and configuration studies for new petrochemical investment projects, technical due diligence for M&A transaction support, lender’s technical advisory for chemicals projects, as well as market and competitive landscape analysis.He has a deep industry knowledge and broad understanding of various petrochemical value chains and feedstocks as well as emerging topics in the chemical industry, ranging from decarbonization solutions (CCUS, electrification, low-carbon hydrogen etc) to sustainable technologies focused on processing of alternative feedstocks such as bio-based and circular materials and waste plastic processing.Dr. Aworinde holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Cambridge.

  • Susan Bell, Director, Polymer Processes, Process Economics Program

    Susan Bell is the Director of Polymer Processes for S&P Global’s Process Economics Program (PEP). She has more than 25 years of experience in the global chemicals industry. Since joining S&P Global (formerly SRI Consulting) in 2001, she has focused on polymer process technology working on consulting projects and authoring multi-client studies providing technical and process economic evaluation of commercial and emerging chemical technologies. Her past projects include plastic recycling, renewable polymer and chemical, polymer nanocomposites, polyolefins, polyethylene terephthalate and polycarbonate. 


    Before joining S&P Global, she held technical positions at ExxonMobil Chemical Company and ARCO Chemical Company. Dr. Bell received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Columbia School of Engineering, New York City, New York.

  • Adam Bland, Executive Director, Specialty Chemicals

    Adam Stephen Bland joined IHS Markit in 2013, bringing with him more than 20 years of commercial experience in the global chemicals industry. As Executive Director, he is the global lead for the company’s area of Specialty Chemicals. He started his career working in intellectual property for Allied Colloids Ltd, UK before moving to Basel, Switzerland to join Ciba Specialty Chemicals and the Global Leadership Team for the Paper Division. He has held senior management positions as Head of Global Product Management, and Head of Strategic Marketing for Operating Divisions within Ciba and BASF, where he also served as a member of the Corporate Sales & Marketing Board. Adam has a Master of Arts in chemistry from Oxford University, Brasenose College and a MBA from Bradford University School of Management.

  • Karine Boccara, Executive Director, Chemical Consulting

    Karine is an Executive Director in the S&P Global Chemical Consulting team, based in London, UK. She has 25 years industrial experience in the chemical and natural gas industries covering consulting in most commodity chemicals and some specialty chemicals, and process design. Karine has led a multitude of projects to help producers develop new investment projects, review the impact of market outlooks, carry out market research, compare the benefits of different technologies, and review and enhance their supply and sales strategies. She has worked with lenders in providing market support for project finance; she has assisted private equity investors in the review and evaluation of businesses and assets. Over the last 3 years, Karine has led the development and management of cross-team consulting projects to support clients seeking to understand opportunities and threats linked to the Energy Transition (ET), and options to improve feedstock supply sustainability, such as via bio and circular routes. This type of work necessitates an understanding beyond traditional value chains, looking more broadly at the impact of ET on Energy & Natural Resources. As a result, Karine has been leading collaborative projects leveraging the expertise of S&P Global across Chemicals, Downstream Refining, Natural Gas, Hydrogen, Ammonia, Biofuels, Renewable Power and S&P Global Energy & Climate Scenarios.

  • Tatiana Bondar, Associate Director, Fibers markets

    Tatiana is the Associate Director of the S&P Global Chemicals Insights team, accountable for Fibers markets. She joined S&P Global in 2023 to handle Polyester & Nylon textile derivatives – fibers, filament and industrial yarns. 


    Tatiana used to work for vertically integrated petrochemical companies – Dow Chemical, Sibur – for the last 8 years in different Sales and Marketing roles. She managed product portfolio of various commodity chemicals – growing the business in revenues and margins, acting as a business development project lead and market intelligence provider. Polymers product family was Tatiana’s focus for the last 3 years, specifically in Nonwovens and Textile applications. She looked after and enhanced PET, PP, PE product offering for Hygiene & Medical, Home textiles & Apparel, Geotextiles, Construction & Argo textiles, Automotive end-markets. She was conducting market research, creating product portfolio strategy, and implementing new product roll outs by bringing together R&D, technical service and manufacturing teams. 


    As a Polyethylene Terephthalate marketing expert Tatiana supported recycled PET resin commissioning at Polyef Plant of Sibur in 2022, liaising with processors, end-users and B2C audience via educational market campaign.

  • Aaron Brady, Vice President, Energy Oil Market Services

    Aaron Brady is Executive Director of Crude Oil Markets Research in the S&P Global Boston, MA office. He has over 20 years of consulting experience in the oil and gas industries. He joined IHS Markit in 2004. Aaron oversees the S&P Global North American Crude Oil research service and is a key contributor to the Global Oil Market Short-Term outlook. He is also a key contributor to S&P Global “Annual Strategic Workbook” long-term oil outlook and has been the author of many strategic reports. He also oversees short-term crude pricing projections and modeling. Aaron holds a B.A. from Amherst College and an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies.

  • Ricardo Castillo, Director, Research Projects – Fuels, Chemicals & Resource Solutions

    Ricardo is a Director of Research Projects in Houston for S&P Global Commodity Insights – Downstream Energy. Ricardo managed the delivery of our refinery and petrochemical integration subscriptions study called “From Fuels to Chemicals” and also provides research and consulting services to energy companies, financial institutions, and government agencies. Ricardo has nearly 20 years of varied and practical experience having worked on Refinery and Petrochemical projects in 30+ countries, 5 continents, and 50+ projects, helping clients make decisions and plan for an unknown future. His varied experience includes developing projects from initial conceptualization through execution both as a Market and Technical advisor. Ricardo started his career with UOP working both in Research and Development of new technologies and Field Operating Services. He joined Purvin & Gertz before being acquired by IHS Markit. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Wisconsin – Madison.

  • Richard Charlesworth, Executive Director, Industry Processes and Cost Analytics

    Dr. Charlesworth leads the Industry Processes and Cost Analytics (IPCA) group with S&P Global Commodity Insights. The IPCA group is responsible for technology related products and solutions, namely the Process Economics Program (PEP), Competitive Cost and Margin Analytics (CCMAs), Refinery Cost and Margin Analytics (RCMA) and Refinery & Petrochemical Integrator & Decarbonizer (RAPID). 


    He joined S&P Global in 2009. He led many consulting projects across different petrochemical streams that have included market studies, feasibility studies, technology selection studies, feedstock sourcing and pricing studies, marketing strategies, logistics reviews, capital estimates and integration assessments. Many projects have included technology assessment and selection, full financial modeling and production cash cost comparisons of facilities. Prior to S&P Global he worked for Nexant, responsible for selling and executing single and multi-client consulting services where he worked on feasibility studies, feedstock strategy projects, independent technical consultant assignments and company refinancing projects. 


    After completing a PhD in Chemical Engineering as part of a project with British Gas, Richard began his career in 1996 with BP Chemicals in Hull, UK, where he worked for five years as a process engineer on acetic acid and vinyl acetate manufacturing plants and pilot plants. In 2001 he moved into the commercial side of the company and held various financial analyst positions in Solvents and Industrial Chemicals and was logistics performance manager for BP's European polymer and solvents assets. 


    Dr. Richard also worked for Ineos Olefins' financial and planning group and was responsible for the short, medium and long term financials for all Ineos' steam crackers in Europe. During this time, he was the lead in developing the Olefins long-term strategy financials, the financial lead for due diligence for the acquisition of a steam cracker complex and led the Olefins annual financial planning process.

  • Stuti Chawla, Managing Editor Petrochemicals and Container Shipping

    Stuti Chawla heads the Commodity Insights petrochemicals pricing team in Asia that is spread over Singapore and India. She also leads the Asia container freight team that is responsible for container freight pricing and news. Stuti has over 20 years of experience in the commodity markets. In her previous stints, she was heading the commodity vertical for a market news and data company, leading policy news and market coverage for around 40 commodities.

  • Aaron Cheong, Senior Analyst

    Aaron is a Senior Analyst with the Platts Analytics’ Petrochemicals team. His current focus is on the petchem feedstocks and market analytics. Prior to joining S&P Global Commodity Insights, he worked in various research houses covering both the petrochemicals and oil product markets and other corporate roles within the industry. His work experiences spanned across both the refining and petrochemicals sectors. He is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM), holds a MSc in Applied Finance from the Singapore Management University and has a Chemical Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore.

  • Dipti Davé, Associate, Director, Process Economics Program

    Dipti Davé currently based in California, USA serves as an Associate Director of Process Economics Program (PEP) within the Industry Process and Cost Analysis (IPCA). With over two decades of professional experience, she has worked in various capacities for esteemed companies in the fields of engineering, construction, steel finishing, and the food industry, including Worley Parsons, Bechtel, USS-POSCO, and Frito-Lay. 


    She contributes to Techno-Economic independent studies on commercial and emerging topics of interest to the industry such as Blue Hydrogen, Low-Carbon Methanol, Carbon Dioxide Capture from Corn Based-Ethanol and Natural Gas Processing. Including Haldor Topsoe’s TREMP™ and Davy Methanation for synthetic natural gas process technologies. She analyzes the impact of changes in processes, feedstocks, energy prices and government regulations on the economic landscape of chemical and fuel production, benefitting clients on a global scale.   • Aaron Duffus, Forecasting Systems & Data Analytics Director

    Aaron is the Forecasting Systems & Data Analytics Director within Fuels, Chemicals & Resource Solutions at S&P Global. Based in the United Kingdom he is responsible for the implementation of technology solutions offering critical insights to drive product growth. He joined Rushmore Reviews, a legacy IHS Markit company, in 2013, with past responsibilities across the upstream and chemicals sectors. He holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of Aberdeen and a Master of Science with distinction in Data Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University.

  • Vipra Dhawan, Senior Research Analyst II

    Vipra is leading the Assets/DCP India team under the FCRS division of S&P Commodity Insights segment for the last 3 years. In her current role, she is primarily responsible for updating and maintaining the database service that provides coverage of the international chemical industry, including information about the chemical producers, their plant locations, and products. Additionally, she is also leading the quality control and quality assurance side of the data. S&P Global Commodity Insights manages a portfolio of over 21000 chemical products on DCP browser on Connect. Prior to this, she was working as a Senior Associate with Corporate Profiles GICS & Industry Classification division under the S&P Market Intelligence segment for 8 years. She graduated in Pharmacy, followed by a Master of Business Administration degree from Delhi, India.

  • Katie Elliot, Director, Aromatics

    With over eighteen years’ experience in the petroleum and petrochemicals industry, Katie currently serves as a Director, Aromatics in S&P Global’s Commodity Insights division in London, UK. Katie joined IHS Markit Chemical (now S&P Global) in 2014, and spent five years carrying out detailed analysis of the aromatics industry in EMEA followed by three years providing single client feasibility, market, due diligence and other studies, covering a range of chemical markets in IHS Markit Chemical’s consulting division until 2022. Before joining S&P Global, Katie worked for an integrated major oil and petrochemical producer for over ten years, including five years in aromatics trading, product management and strategy.

  • Shaohua Feng, Director of Polymers, Asia Pacific

    Dr. Shaohua Feng currently serves as Director of Polymers, Asia Pacific, S&P Global Commodity Insights. He is based in Singapore, and responsible for developing market research, analytics and insights capabilities and services for polymers and plastics with the focus on supply/demand forecasting, plastics recycling, and circular economy and sustainability in petrochemical and polymer industry. He joined IHS Markit as Director of Chemical Consulting in April 2020 and has more than 20 years of experience in petrochemical and specialty chemical industry.   • Elvira Greiner, Research and Analysis Associate Director

    Elvira Greiner brings 20+ years of experience in market research and analysis for the chemical industry. Her professional expertise includes competitive analysis, identifying market trends, and forecasting chemical market growth for a wide variety of chemicals. She has led and conducted primary and secondary market research on over 50 multi-client studies with emphasis on solvents, surfactants and their raw materials, and organic intermediates.   • Maoshi Guan, Executive Director, Specialty Chemicals

    Dr. Guan is Executive Director, Specialty Chemicals – Resins and Coatings, within the S&P Commodity Insights. He joined IHS Chemical in 2014 and brings over 15 years of in-depth industry experience in surface finishing, automotive, and chemical industries. His current focus is coatings and associated raw materials. He has authored a broad range of reports for the Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH) and Specialty Chemicals Update Program (SCUP). 

    Prior to joining S&P, Maoshi held various positions at Lacks Enterprises in Michigan, US and Total (China) in areas of research and development, product management, and business development. 

    He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from China University of Petroleum and a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA, US.

  • Shiva Gupta, Director of Oil Markets, Downstream and Chemicals

    Shiva Gupta is a director of oil markets, downstream and chemicals at S&P Global Commodity Insights. Mr. Gupta manages marine industry fuel demand for the Annual Strategic Workbook and focuses on alternative fuels and clean tech investment across the downstream industries. He provides consulting support for refinery assets and supply, including trade. He joined IHS Markit in 2012 and, since that time, has provided research and analysis and published weekly and monthly reports for the petrochemical group. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Gupta held process engineering and business development roles at Lummus Technology and was manager of operation at Reliance Industries Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India, and an MBA from Management Development Institute, India. He is based in southern California, United States.

  • Marifaith Hackett, Executive Director, Renewables & Nutrition

    Dr. Marifaith Hackett is Executive Director, Specialty Chemicals—Renewables and Nutrition. She has more than 30 years of experience in the global chemicals industry. Marifaith leads IHS Markit’s Renewables and Nutrition team, which analyzes the bio-based chemicals, bioplastics, and biofuels industries as well as food and nutrition markets. Before joining IHS Markit, Marifaith was a product manager and market/technology analyst at several consulting, manufacturing, and Internet companies. She started her career as a research chemist in the New Products R&D division of Amoco Chemical Company. Dr. Hackett's credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Bradley University, Peoria, Ill., US, an MBA from the University of Chicago, Chicago, Ill., US, and a doctorate in Organic Chemistry from Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass., US.

  • Walt Hart, Olefins Americas Lead

    During the past 16 years, Dr. Walt Hart has worked as a consultant and researcher in the chemical and energy industries, with a focus on petrochemical feedstocks and NGLs. Prior to leading Americas Olefins, he led the Industry Executive Advisory efforts for S&P Global Fuels, Chemicals and Resources in Europe and Africa; and earlier he served as Global NGL/LPG Business Lead and Chief Strategist, wherein he led subscription services, bespoke consulting, three annual international conferences and training workshops. During 14 years at The Dow Chemical Company/ Union Carbide and 2 years at Owens Corning Fiberglas, he worked in ethylene feedstock optimization, process engineering, technical sales, R&D, finance, and strategic planning. He has taught at the undergraduate level. Dr. Hart is a registered professional engineer and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He holds a BS, chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from the University of Charleston, and a PhD, chemical engineering from West Virginia University.

  • Bernd Helbing, C4s & Elastomers Lead

    Bernd is the EMEA C4´s and Elastomers consultant for the S&P Global Chemicals Insights team. He joined S&P Global in 2023 to lead the Global C4´s and Elastomers team. 


    His main responsibility in the past started with company Henkel KGaA, Düsseldorf, in the area of sales (5 years’ experience in the construction of an entire sales organization and structure for Henkel in Russia). Additional more than 10 years’ experience in the strategic raw materials purchase department for Henkel KGaA, Düsseldorf. Bernd had worked several years with his own company in the area of synthetic rubber and their feedstocks, mainly C4 and butadiene. 


    During this period Bernd acquire a sustained experience of raw materials especially from the C2/C3 and C4 chain. He was responsible to complete studies of the European raw material market and to implement tools which allowed reacting timely to market developments and influences, either on the economic side or on supply/demand. In his time with his own company, he was responsible to explore the market on the C4 and butadiene chain and to provide to secure the production dispose on the supply chain side. For the sales side he was responsible to focus the market drivers for the derivatives worldwide. For former IHS Markit his responsibilities require input to the Global C4 Olefins and Elastomers Report, Global Outlook - Feedstocks, Elastomers and Rubber, World Analysis for butadiene and business advisory work.

  • Heike Held, Research & Analysis Associate Director

    Heike Held is a Research and Analysis Associate Director at S&P Global Commodity Insights, formerly IHS Markit. She is part of the inorganic chemicals, minerals and mining team and co-authors a broad range of reports for the Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH) and Specialty Chemicals Update Program (SCUP). Prior to joining IHS Markit in January 2019, Heike worked at Genentech, Inc. as R&D chemist, and at various higher education institutions. She holds a diploma in chemistry from the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg, Germany and a doctoral degree in chemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland.

  • Yi-Jeng Huang, Americas Lead, Methanol & Derivatives

    Yi-Jeng currently serves as the Lead for Methanol & Derivatives, Americas, based in Toronto, Canada. Yi-Jeng joined S&P Global Commodity Insights (previously Platts) in 2015, as a Senior Pricing Specialist, focused on several commodities including polyolefins and methanol. He moved to cover Agriculture and Petrochemicals as a Structured Market Engagement specialist before transitioning to an Analyst for Platts Analytics, Global Petrochemicals team, specializing in supply/demand modeling and forecasting.

  • Max Ismagilov, Senior Research Analyst, Urea, Fertecon

    Max leads the long-term analysis of the global urea market at S&P Global Commodity Insights’ Fertilizer (Fertecon) team. As a key member of the Fertecon’s nitrogen team, he is responsible for producing the quarterly Urea Outlook Reports which include detailed analyses of supply and demand, trade, production costs, and prices, as well as medium- and long-term forecasts.Max has 20 years of experience in market analysis, industry research, and strategic marketing. Prior to joining IHS Markit (now part of S&P Global Commodity Insights) in January 2021, he performed a variety of market analysis and marketing roles while working for leading producers in the fertilizer (URALCHEM), advanced materials (Materia and HaloPolymer), industrial minerals (P. W. Gillibrand Co.) and packaging (PCBK Group) industries.Mr. Ismagilov holds a Master of Science in Sociology from Perm State University and a Certificate in General Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University. He also served as a Member of the Board of Directors at the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Thermoset Division.

  • Stephen Jew, Executive Director, Global Refining and Marketing Research

    Stephen Jew is an executive director with the energy downstream research team at S&P Global – Commodities Insights. Mr. Jew is the global lead on the Short-Term and Long-Term Crude and Refined Product Prices and Margins service. He supports various research and consulting projects in the crude, biofuels, lubricants, and downstream oil business. Mr. Jew has provided commercial and technical assistance to client business strategy, including due diligence assistance related to energy mergers and acquisitions, project feasibility, financial and sensitivity analysis, and price forecast modeling. Before joining S&P Global, he worked for UOP, a Honeywell Company. While at UOP, Mr. Jew was a senior field operating technical engineer, assisting customers globally with refinery unit start-ups, troubleshooting, and operations. His primary downstream technical knowledge is in fluidized catalytic cracking and reforming complexes while having considerable experience with other parts of the refinery ecosystem. Prior to this position, he worked in UOP’s hydroprocessing R&D group and aromatics engineering department.     With over twelve years’ experience in the petrochemicals consulting industry, Yazmine currently serves as an Associate Director, Aromatics in S&P Global’s Commodity Insights division in London, UK. Yazmine started her career with CMAI (which became IHS Markit Chemical) in 2010, and spent several years as an analyst working in the consulting team and the soda ash team before moving to the aromatics team, where she carried out detailed analysis of the fibre feedstock industry in EMEA.   • Kate Lee, Associate Director, Aromatics

    Kate joined S&P Global Commodity Insights in Singapore as principle research analyst in aromatics, in October 2022. She first entered the petrochemical industry in 2006 when she joined OceanConnect in Singapore to be part of a lean team that started up its petrochemicals broking desk. In that role, she brokered across the entire BTX chain of toluene, benzene, xylenes and styrene monomer, as well as gasoline blending components, for the Asia market, bringing that desk from creation to recognition. 

    This 16-year journey in the petrochemicals industry took her from being a petrochemicals broker, to trader, to price assessment and market reporter and now to analysis and forecasting. As a trader for a Middle East-based solvents distributor, not only did she expand its Asia-based list of suppliers, she was also part of a two-man team that started its Asia petrochemicals trading desk. Her past 8 years were spent at Argus Media, building up her expertise in price assessments. She also enjoyed covering the seismic changes in the aromatics and olefins markets. Her portfolio at Argus spanned toluene, mixed xylenes, MTBE, ethylene, benzene and styrene monomer. 

    She graduated from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore with a business studies degree, with a major in marketing and is currently refreshing her knowledge by doing a PowerMBA. Prior to entering the petrochemicals industry, she has a broad range of experiences in conference management, marketing of research level medical books and journals, and advertising sales for publications targeted at the purveyors of luxury.

  • Kevin Lindemer, Executive Director, Downstream Americas Consulting

    Kevin Lindemer is based in Boston, Massachusetts and is a Vice President in IHS Markit’s Downstream Energy Consulting Practice. He has over 35 years of industry and consulting experience. Prior to joining IHS Markit in 2013, Mr. Lindemer was with Cambridge Energy Research Associates for 14 years where he started and managed its downstream oil consulting service and with Global Insight for three years where he managed its energy research and consulting practice. He also founded and ran his own energy consulting company for five years.   • Michel Molinier, Director, Americas Aromatics and Derivatives

    Michel Molinier has 25 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, first with Elf Atochem, then with ExxonMobil Chemical Company (EMCC), and more recently as a consultant for Axens North America. During his years at EMCC, Michel primarily worked in basic chemicals, including aromatics, olefins and methanol. Michel successively managed catalyst supply for aromatics processes, technical support for aromatics and alkylation processes, licensing technical sales, new process commercialization, partnerships development and competitive intelligence. He also supported the aromatics base business strategy through industry dynamics, forecast and situation analysis studies.     Andrew recently joined S&P Global and leads the EMEA base chemicals commodity insight team, focusing on aromatics markets. Andrew has spent the past decade in the Middle East, most recently working for QatarEnergy where he was responsible for strategy development for the marketing and sales of Qatar’s exports of fuels, petrochemical feedstocks, petrochemicals and fertilisers.     Andy leads S&P Global Commodity Insight’s research into Olefin Derivatives and Intermediates, including Ethylene and Propylene Oxides, Glycols and Linear Alpha Olefins. He joined S&P Global in 2023 having spent much of his career at Shell Chemicals. 


    Andy started his career as a Marketer - and then an Economist - within Shell’s Mobility business, before joining Shell Chemicals in 2012 as Sales Manager for Linear Alpha Olefins, Alcohols and Ethoxylates. Subsequently he joined the European Base Chemicals team, leading cracker feedstock projects to establish Ethane imports from North America, as well as new domestic sources of NGL’s and other advantaged feedstocks. After this he managed the Propylene Oxide Glycols and Glycol Ethers business, with overall responsibility for the P&L, manufacturing and supply chains, as well the strategic direction of the product line. 


    His experience across a number of Shell’s value chains has given him a strong insight into integrated value, and deep knowledge of a wide range of derivatives and end uses including Automotive, Building & Construction, Furnishings, Lubricants, Detergents and Solvents. 


    Most recently, Andy led Digitalization and Sustainability projects within Shell Aviation, and has a keen interest in how developments in these areas will impact the Chemical industry in both the near and long-term.

    Matthew Palmer, Executive Director, S&P Global Commodity Insights, is an authority on North American natural gas markets with upstream oil and gas and financial risk management experience. He leads our America’s Gas & Power natural gas coverage and is an expert at developing fundamentals-based supply, demand, and price forecasts and an understanding of the associated risks.     Harry Thomas is the Director of Inorganics in the America’s for the newly formed S&P Global Commodity Insights division. Based from the Houston, TX location, Harry joined S&P in 2022. With 35 years of industry experience between Occidental Chemical and Olin Corporation in Chlor-Alkali, Vinyl’s, Petrochemicals, Specialties and Epoxy Resins, Harry has held a number of prominent and global positions. Most recently he was the President of Epoxy at Olin, with other responsibilities in his tenure involving leading Chlorinated Organics, International, and Corporate Strategy & Growth. Harry led the M&A efforts for Olin during the $6Bn acquisition of Dow Chlorine Products in 2015. Harry has worked for some of the largest producers of Vinyl’s and Chlor- Alkali and the broadest international exporters around the world of EDC, VCM, PVC, LCS and Epoxy Products. Harry holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and an MBA from Bryant University in Smithfield, RI. He resides out of Dallas, TX.

  • Liliana Viciu, Research and Analysis Associate Director

    Dr. Liliana Viciu joined IHS Markit now S&P Global in 2016 bringing with her more than 10 years of advanced chemical knowledge. She works as Associate Director within the Specialty Chemicals division leading the Solvents and Surfactants (S&S) team, which analyses surfactants, household detergents and their raw materials, 1,4-butanediol chain of products, fluoropolymers, fluoroelastomers, fluorocarbons, chlorinated solvents, as well as linear alpha olefins markets. Before moving to the S&S team in August 2022, Liliana was involved with market research analysis in the field of nutrition and renewable products (bio-based chemicals, biofuels as well as feed and food ingredients). Prior to joining IHS Markit, she worked for nine years as a senior researcher and lecturer at ETH Zürich, Switzerland, in the field of the structure-properties relationship of materials science. She started her career as a researcher at Princeton University and then at Cornell University, United States.
